Getting started with GeolinQ
GeolinQ is a web-based no code software platform to collect, integrate and distribute spatial data. Data from different data sources are integrated into tailor-made information products by the flexible data model. All source data and information products are disclosed to users and applications via services. Data-driven applications such as managing datasets, conducting inspections and publishing information products and source data in portals are configured by application screens in a application service.
Flexible data model
The core of GeolinQ is the configurable object-oriented data model to configure the structure of the data and the metadata structure of tdatasets. The bindings between external data sources and file formats are also configurable in order to assure that all source data of an organization is disclosed by the flexible data model of GeolinQ. The disclosed source data can be made directly available to end users via services or converted into tailor-made information products using views, unions or the SPS.
Configurable processes and tasks
In GeolinQ configurable processes are available to import, transform and export data. The bindings between the file formats and the flexible data model are defined in the import and export processes. The bindings between attributes of the datasets and the transformation parameters are established the transformation processes such as contour generation, rasterization and intersection. Configured processes are executed manually or automatically with a task on a dataset. Processes are merged into one workflow process by process steps saving manual actions and time.
Presentation and application screens
Screens and map layers can present the data in the datasets of the flexible data model. The styles and color scales are linked to the data structures of the flexible data model to support presentation in map layers. The same styles and color scales might be applied in WMS layers as well as in map layers of the map screen.
Application screens such as charts, lists and forms are linked to the data structures of the flexible data model. The application screens are quickly generated by using wizards and applied in an application service for a GIS application.
Applications and services
The source data and information products in the datasets of the flexible data model can be made accessible by services to applications and end users. The usual OGC services (WMS, WCS and WFS) are available for applications and GIS viewers. With WFS-T, data can be edited in GeolinQ from applications and GIS viewers. With the REST service interfaces in JSON, XML and GML format can be configured. The configured REST interface can be exported in the OpenAPI Specification (OAS) so that the documentation of the configured REST service is immediately available to developers.
With the application service, configured application screens can be merged into a GIS application. The logo and color scheme of the application service can be adapted to the corporate identity of the organization. The application service can be used on any device with a modern internet browser in the office or in the field.
Security and user management
GeolinQ's authorization structure provides access to the stored data for consulting, editing or changing the structure and presentation of the data. The users are linked to user groups and derive their rights from the user groups they belong to.
GeolinQ has an OpenID authentication service with which GeolinQ can be connected to a Single Sign On (SSO) service such as ADFS, Google or Facebook. The OpenID authentication service is configurable so that the properties of users and user groups are linked to the user account of the OpenID service. This allows users and user groups in GeolinQ to be centrally managed in the organization.
