Training

Training is available to support users to configure and use GeolinQ. The training explains the GeolinQ concepts and provides tutorials for hands-on training. A GeolinQ tenant is available for every student during the training that will be accessible till a month after the training. Contact us for more information.

The training modules

The training explains the core concepts of GeolinQ and offers tutorials to experience the core functionality of the software. The training has a duration of one day and consists of the following four modules:  

Module 1: GeolinQ concepts

This module provides an overview of the GeolinQ functionality and underlying concepts required to start working with the solution efficiently. The following topics are covered in this module:    

  • Data management processes
  • Overview GeolinQ
  • Datasources
    • Datasets
    • Class definitions
  • Task management and processes
  • Import and export
    • Coordinate systems
  • Integration with views, unions and processes
  • Styling of datasets
  • Services
    • Applications and screens
  • Administration

Module 2: Point clouds and raster datasets

This module aims on data managers who import, model, integrate and export point clouds and raster datasets. The following topics are covered in this module:

  • Introduction point clouds and rasters
  • Class definitions
    • Data definitions
    • Metadata definitions
  • Point cloud and raster datasets
  • Import and export of point clouds and raster data
  • Create colour scales and profiles
  • Seamless Point Surface (SPS) concept and configuration
  • Create contours using point cloud and raster datsets
  • Configure map screens and map layers

Module 3: Features

After following this module data managers are able to import, edit, model, style and export feature datasets. The following topics are covered in this module:

  • Introduction feature data
  • Class definitions
    • Primary keys
    • Standard geometry
    • Domain lists
  • Feature datasets
  • Introduction of WFS datasources
  • Import and export features
  • Edit features
  • SLD Styling: import, edit and export styles
  • Intersection of datasets
  • Introduction of views and pivot tables

Module 4: Distribution

After following this module data managers are able to publish datasets to end-users using maps and web services. The following topics are covered in this module: 

  • Introduction distribution and services
  • Configure WMS services
  • Introduction of WFS and WFS-T services
  • Configure an application service
    • Manage and edit data in a map screen
    • Introduction application screens
    • Manage and edit data in a list and form screen
  • Introduction of REST and SOAP Services
