Services for users and applications
For the distribution of source data and information products, services can be configured in GeolinQ to make the data accessible to users and applications. Source data and information products are directly accessible to end users from the GeolinQ administrator service and the application services. Via the Open Gis Consortium (OGC) services, source data and information products from GeolinQ can be delivered to GIS applications and viewers of third parties. Via the configurable REST service an interface with almost any software platform is possible.
Publish and collect data via application services
Application services can be configured in GeolinQ to collect and make data available to end users. For project members or a group of customers, a GIS application can be configured via application screens and map screens in an application service were data can be collected or made available. The application service can be accessed via a web browser on any PC, laptop or tablet. The appearance of the user interface can be customized for each application service with the organization’s color schema and logo.
Web Map Services (WMS)
Web Map Services (WMS) to share map layer visualization are easy to configure. WMS layers are based on active selections of datasets from the flexible data model. The advantage is that datasets, including new datasets and updates of datasets, that meet the selection criteria are automatically included in the WMS. The services therefore always contain the most recent data.
One or more styles can be selected per dataset selection. Each style can be obtained as a separate WMS layer. WMS services are configurable for all types of geographic data and are primarily used for integration with map viewers.
Web Feature Services (WFS)
Web Feature Services (WFS) to share objects data are easy to configure. WFS layers are based on active selections of datasets from the flexible data model. The advantage is that datasets, including new datasets and updates of datasets, that meet the selection criteria are included in the WFS. The services therefore always contain the most recent data. WFS services are especially suitable for integrating data with processing tools or GIS analysis tools such as ArcGIS and QGIS.
Transactional Web Feature Services (WFS-T)
The configuration of Transactional Web Feature Services (WFS-T) makes it possible to perform mutations on existing objects in accordance with the OGC standard with third-party applications. Mutations can affect the geometry as well as attribute values of the object. New objects can also be created or objects can be deleted.
Web Coverage Service (WCS)
Point clouds or grid datasets can be made available to third parties via the Web Coverage Service (WCS). Like WMS and WFS services, WCS services consist of layers in which data sets can be included. Multiple datasets can be combined in one layer via a condition on the metadata of the datasets. New datasets that meet the WCS condition are automatically added to the WCS layer. Thus, the WCS is always up-to-date.
In GeolinQ, REST services can be configured to directly access and edit stored data. Via the REST services, potentially any application can access and edit the data in GeolinQ according to configurable HTTP requests and configurable response formats such as JSON, XML and GML. The configured REST interface can be exported in the OpenAPI Specification (OAS) so that the documentation of the configured REST service is readily available to developers.
